Doubtful. But it would be nice.

Winning is about hard work, discipline and learning so hopefully this will be positive going forward. Love having Vanek on the team, he definitely raises the level of the forwards.

Agreed...While Vanek's stock is rising, trade him to the Rangers for one of the Rag$ defenseman and Talbot...

I stayed up for the whole game, was wired, and suffered maybe 100 heart attacks from the 3rd period on...and just my quick observations:

* After the Islanders scored their first goal, it was frightening to see how insane the Sharks brought their game on. Did anyone else notice that it seemed like San Jose was like "This is NOT happening"

* Poulin's performance was out of control, and I'm not saying he's the savior goalie, but it's interesting to note when the young guys have more regular playing time, how they've been looking better each game...at least to me anyway - this just confuses me even more that Snow is supposedly working so hard to find a goalie...

* John Tavares has to be a cyborg, plain and simple. He wasn't human last night.

* Any doubt I had after Kyle Okposo came back from his shoulder injury has been washed away from the second half of last season to now. I honestly feel like he's been making huge strides, seems to always get to the corners and wins the battles...when a puck is dumped in he's there...and his 19 assists show he's making stuff happen

* The team might have stopped the skid, but Capuano is not going to be able to quintuple shift the Tavares line every night, and if we rely on Tavares having a supernatural herculean effort to pretty much will the game in the Islanders favor, that's not a good thing

Entertaining and huge win, but incredibly far from saying this is going to turn things around yet. Again, all my opinion obviously, would love to hear other fans' thoughts!

I went to bed after the first period but I thought Poulin looked good. Watched the highlights and thought Okposo is now a legit top 6 forward. So now the Islanders have 3 or 4 top 6 forwards and if Capuano gives Strome and Nelson more time, they might have two more..

Not bad, but he hasn't been resigned yet has he???

If hes just gonna walk at the end of the season, might as well recoup some of what it cost to get him at the deadline.

It was a fun game last night. Poulin played his best game of his career and it was the best goaltending performance by an Islander this year. It actually opened my eyes. He still has to work on positioning, proper angle and depth and learn to what the experts call "an economy of movement." Having said that he has great reflexes and agility. The other things you can learn and develop, reflexex and agility you basically either have them or you don't.

I dont think it really mattered, nobody was at the game to care. Move the Panthers now!!!! I heard Quebec City is looking for a team and they have plenty of fans to fill the stands. 1 team in Florida is quite enough for now and the Lightning actually fill the seats (even though half the fans are from New York or Canada).

pannthers are going no where they own the building...so while it looks awful that 3 thousand fans show up to a game and nodoby cares...every sold out concert their goes into the panthers pockets
